Shimshi – A dazzling Las Vegas magician
Las Vegas magician Shimshi has completed 7 years of entertaining from Las Vegas. He is, according to the Los Angles Times,’ Anything but ordinaryâ€.
He was first hired by the Mirage Resort and Casino, then performed at the prestigious Planet Hollywood before being grabbed as Resident magician of Wynn Las Vegas.
During the last few years the Las Vegas magician has toured world wide entertaining Asia and Europe as well as performed for many celebrities from Hugh Jackman to Steve Martin.
Shinshi was born in 1979 in Tel-a-viv, Israel. He first performed at age 13. After performing for 7 years in Israel, Shimshi moved to the US to pursue his dream of performing as a Las Vegas magician.
His first venue was Los Angeles. He began appearing on the Magic Castle, Hollywood, California. In 2002 and 2003, he even won the strolling Olympics award for 3 consecutive times awarded by the Academy of Magical Arts.
On February 1st 2004, the magic happened when he got a call form Mirage resort and Casino in Las Vegas to be their resident magician. The Las Vegas magician spent two years practicing his art at this resort. He then moved ahead perfecting his art by performing for The World’ Greatest Magic Show at the Sahara Casino and the V show at Planet Hollywood.
Thus his dream of being a Las Vegas magician started to bear fruit.
The Las Vegas magician Shimshi has performed in Vegas as well as toured all over the world. He has performed his act at venues like the princess Grace Theatre in Monaco and the Winter Garden Theater in Berlin. Shimshi has received a number of awards from the magic community including the Milbourne Christopher award for “Best Newcomer†and the Mandrake D’Or Award in Paris.
In 2000, when he arrived in America, Shimshi had declared,†In Everything I Do, I want to reach for the skyâ€. In 2008, the Las Vegas magician, Shimshi got recognized as the best out of 100 magicians for ABC’s America‘s Got Talent Show.
Radio 97.1 FM did a one hour special on him. Reason- the Las Vegas magician made all the listener’s spoons bend! “When people feel the magic in their own hands, there is nothing like itâ€, accords to Shimshi. The Las Vegas magician has also been featured on Mondo magic program aired by A&E Television network.
But the Las Vegas Magician was in the news for all the wrong reasons recently. CNN ran an article on how he, like other Las Vegas entertainers, is experiencing a decline in the face of the current recession.
With the current economic downturn, Shinshi has seen his gigs disappear with the struggling economy. The Las Vegas magician stays put at home while his wife works as a caterer. The Shimshis lost all the money they had invested in a Smoothie King franchise.
They had to cancel a lot of luxuries in their lifestyle like spa visits for the lady and home phone service and pool service for Shimshi. It reached a point of affecting school fees for their only daughter.
The Las Vegas magician Shimshi is however thinking positive about reviving his career. He is working on a business plan to perform at trade show booths for big companies.
